Supernatural: Losin You

Supernatural have been compared to Artists such as Coldplay, U2, Tom Petty, Howie Day or Peter Gabriel. The Duo started to work on tracks and songs in 1991, after touring and recording with different Artists and projects. Some of these sessions led to their first album 'The Calling' (October 1998). Tracks of 'The Calling' quickly occupied ambient radio stations although the original intent was to create music to visuals without paying too much attention to commercial radio. [...]

Faces East: Forgiveness

What is Faces East all about? Is it an attraction to the start of a new day in music? Is it an instinctive draw to the energy that exists all around us? Or is it a collaboration of 5 musicians who all share the same passion and zeal to bring a fresh, new sound to the world? Faces East is all of these things and so much more. Joining forces after many years as musicians and many successful music projects, Brian, Dan, Fish, Rick and John fit together in a unique and seamless way that makes their music flow more from their heart and soul than from their instruments. There's a raw urgency about their craft; an energy that won't be ignored. From in-your-face rock, to laid back funk, to soulful ballads, this band comes through in all directions.

Karina Iglesias: The Way

Born and raised in Miami, Florida to Honduran parents, Karina Iglesias sound mirrors the diverse musical and cultural influences that have shaped her character and forged her individuality as an artist. With a style equally informed by rhythm & blues, boleros, gospel and hip-hop, Karina delivers her performances with the intimacy of a deep soul crooner and the conviction and drive of a dauntless female singer/songwriter. A veteran of the Miami live music scene, Karina began writing songs in earnest during the time she started working extensively with local bands. It soon became apparent that through composing original material, her true artistic identity had emerged. Her emotionally charged and deeply personal lyrics now revealed a depth of character and vulnerability that can only be conveyed when a singer truly connects with their song.

NoTalkRadio #36: Shilloo's Tree - Leo's Leeway - Dean Krippaehne - Lizards from Afar - Jeff Burton

NoTalkRadio #35

... mit einem Intro von Lizards from Afar:

Shilloo's Tree: Breakfast Serial

SHILLOO'S TREE has a long history and story to tell but to cut it short here is a resume . Some nine years ago three friends started jamming and playing neverending instrumentals, just for the fun of it. As time went by the band members felt the need to recruit a vocalist which would make there music more accessible to the people. Many vocalists came and went but none fitted in some way or another with the other three members. Then the unimaginable happened, SHILLOO'S TREE managed to find the long awaited vocalist. From then onwards the band started writing more new material and building their repertoire with the aim of performing live locally. The band members are as follows, Max on Vocals, Gabriel on guitars, Kevin on bass and Stefan on drums. The style of music as described by the band members is Bastard Funk, whatever that may mean? The main objective of the Band is writing original material, but also performing cover versions with a twist. It's a band about friendship, fun and original music.

Leo's Leeway: 2-Riah Got Rhythm

Leo's Leeway is my solo songwriting and composing project - sometimes I get little help from my friends and we realize song ideas in my studio in Stockholm. As this is more of a musical workshop than a regular live band, I distribute my material into a variety of my favourite genre bags - from Ambient, Dance/Electronica towards NuJazzFunk to NeoSoul and Soundtracks.

Dean Krippaehne: Don't You Worry

I'm a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, blah-blah-blah etc... Living in Seattle. I spend most of my working hours at whatever local Starbucks (cheap office rates), or in my Honda (great cell service and even cheaper office rates)..., behind a piano/in front of a mic, on the side of some mountain near the Alpine Lakes (wonderful black bear and squirrel company), or on the lazy ocean sands of Figi. (OK - I made up the Figi part) I am 6' 4" but most of my photos here are only 3" tall.

Lizards from Afar: Clipboard

Something started growing in Chopper's basement in late 1990... 4 guys from Illinois Wesleyan and 1 from Illinois State started a band. We rehearsed all of about 5 times when we decided it was time to do our first show. The concert on the quad! We were such a huge hit...ahem...we decided it was time to record an album. We rehearsed a handful of additional times and BEGAN work on our cover version of Devil Went Down to Georgia. (As a heavy metal rap song...eat that Kid Rock!) We went into the studio one spring Saturday in May 1991 and recorded 14 songs in 7 hours including Devil, a song we had never once played all the way through!! The result was an album called How Old is Your Sister?

Jeff Burton: Blame it on the moon

Brought up in a musical household, Jeff took to music early. Steered into folk music by his father at the end of the folk boom of the 60's, he was influenced by 'newcomers' like Don Maclean, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon as well as the older generation like Pete Seeger. Lately Jeff's attention has turned to the classic jazz standards and his original music which seeks to emulate them. Jeff Burton is a songwriter with a gift for a well-constructed lyric and catchy tunes. He co-wrote 'Memories and Dreams' with Michael Fix for Slim Dusty. He has written over a hundred original songs in a variety of genres from jazz to country. As a performer, he has a gentle but sophisticated touch.

NoTalkRadio #35: DRUW - Big Bang Machine - Storm Gordon - Artemis - Austin Taylor

NoTalkRadio #35

... mit einem Intro von Yongen (aus NoTalkRadio #34):

DRUW: Wrong

The aim of Druws music is to make people get down!! The FUNK lies in every song mixed up with more modern influences such as House, Electro and Broken-Beat. In the true vein of his funk fore-fathers Druw is trying to stimulate the mind as well as the legs so there are elements in his lyrics which reflect these mixed up times. Druw has written, produced, sang, played bass, keyboards, guitar, and programmed his music with the help of a few guest players on the way. Druw also is heavily involved with The Sound Kartel (also on Garageband) and with DJ Perez with who he has had major dance music releases and is working on an album with. May the funk be with you!!

Big Bang Machine: Sun Showers

The Big Bang Machine was formed in New Orleans in 2004. We did our debut CD there at that time. We began work on our second CD in 2005 but the band was displaced all over the country after hurricane Katrina. We have continued to work together, largley via internet, and completed our second CD in November of 2007. The music is progressive and eclectic with elements of latin, funk, electronic, traditional and progressive jazz.

Storm Gordon: Birdman

... "Cosmopolitan singer songwriter… draws from the experiences of a life lived on remote Scottish islands, in European capitals & on the LA club scene, to create a beguiling hybrid of ambient beats, experimental electronics & vocalising rooted in 40's jazz… erotically-charged percolations… this is a luscious piece of work." Johnny Black, Q Magazine / "Curious album... makes great listening." Flux Magazine, UK / "...superb Chill-out..." (album of the month) Sunday Post, UK ...
